Chrissie & Byron's Love Story

A little over 7 years ago, Chrissie accepted a job at a glamorous NYC hotel... where she would meet the talented Chef trying to get the culinary program up and running. After a few back and fourth flirty hello's and Byron kicking Chrissie out of the kitchen for too much snack consumption he asked her on a date and that was it! So after a short few months, they found a cute apartment and made their little life. So rudely interrupted by COVID-19, Byron's sweet family kindly let them stay while NYC dealt with the pandemic. Well never in a million years did they think they would live in Pennsylvania in Byron's childhood home in their late 20's, but during that time, Chrissie learned how much being outdoors meant to her and how much Byron missed being with his family while trying to maintain a big Chef career in Manhattan. In November of 2020, the pair made the big move out west to Aspen, Colorado. They would learn to ski, fish in the best waters, make the absolute best group of friends and advance their careers in culinary and fashion. Byron started a job at the famous hotel "The Little Nell" and Chrissie as a wardrobe stylist at Alice + Olivia. Working their way up, loving one another and learning how to live in Colorado. Three years later, Byron got down on one knee in their little family room and proposed with the ring on top a Strawberry Sprinkle donut (Chrissie's favorite.) Later in 2023, they purchased their first home together where friends and family would visit and share meals together on the porch under the stars. October of 2025 is just around the corner and Byron and Chrissie will share their love in front of God, family and friends in the Aspen Valley where they have created their life together. Everyone is always wondering what to wear to a wedding! So, Chrissie's here to help. Welcome Party:The Tipsy Trout is super causal - and it could be lovely out, or it could snow? We never know in the mountains. Bring layers, and fall apparel. Jeans are completely fine with a button down. Ladies, think pumpkin spice... ya know? Sweaters and boots. We live in a western mountain town, want to rock a hat and boot? Do it! Ceremony + Reception:Formal: again like I said, you never know with weather here but obviously I will be the one in the white dress... so maybe don't wear that color. Haha. Men, find the suit in your closet that makes you feel great and a dress shoe and tie!Ladies, of course I do this for a living so feel free to call/text me but it's fall - the color palette in amazing. Feel free to wear, black/brown/jewel tones whatever you like! Long Dresses make most sense since it's the fall. Grab a fur wrap, or jacket just incase it's chilly. Our ceremony is indoor/outdoor. Reception is fully inside. And just between you and me.... I don't like being cold so dress accordingly.

Travel:Please be aware that Denver is not close to Aspen. It's a 3 hour + drive. If you are down for a road trip situation, please make sure you rent an all-wheel drive car. The drive on i-70 can be smooth sailing or a little nutty based on weather.

Accommodation:We have secured rooms which you will find in the section called 'Travel.' Please be diligent in reserving your room promptly under 'Evert Wedding' by September 25th.

Q + A

The Basalt Mountain Inn is the cutest little local Inn right near all our venues. Since it's so local, we've put a block on the whole Inn which has a variety of room opportunities. Please call the number above and ask about the "Evert Wedding" room block and book according to how many guests are attending in your party. Please note, they are aware some guest will check in on different arrival dates and are prepared to work through dates with guests based on visit.

Basalt Mountain Inn

Aspen Alt is a precious little hotel and also walking distance to the Basalt venues. We have a room block of 10 rooms, under the name "Evert Wedding." Please give the number above a call to book accordingly based on guest amount and comfort.

Aspenalt Lodge

The Hoffman Hotel is just down the street from most of the wedding festivities and would require a car to and from events. The Hilton property has lovely accommodations. We don't have a specific room block, however during the fall season they have many options for rooms.

YES! We have airport in Aspen that flies in domestic airlines. Mostly United + American. Weather can make things wonky but it's only 20 minutes from our wedding venues. It will be the easiest upon arrival. They also have many options for rental cars if you want to snag a ride for the weekend.

Aspen/Pitkin County Airport

The second closet airport is the Eagle County Airport that is about 1 1/2 hours away from the Aspen valley. This requires a rental car and defensive driving. Mountain driving is not something to be taken lightly, and it could absolutely snow in October.

Eagle County Regional Airport

Okay yall, just a FYI - Denver Airport is always the cheapest option for a flight but the drive is no joke. You're in for a 3 1/2 hour moment driving up to the mountains. Absolutely requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle. It's not close.... so if you are rocking a road trip. Do it! On i-70 in a little town called Idaho Springs... the Frothy Cup is the best cup of coffee you'll ever have. Xo.

Aspen Valley Site Seeing + Activities

During your stay for our wedding Aspen will be on the ladder end of the fall leaves and site seeing. Here are a few things we love!1. The Maroon Bells: the most picturesque sight in all of Aspen.2. Downtown Aspen for drinks and fun shopping. 30 min by car from hotels.3. Snowmass Rec Center: $15 a day for a pass to swim, workout, and hang.4. General site seeing: lots of hikes, and gorgeous scenery. Text Chrissie for recs!5.
